CVT Pulley Sets With Fully Variable Torque Sensor

The LuK pulley construction with a fully variable torque sensor allows the maximum possible levels of performance and torque with a CVT. The torque sensor is a hydro-mechanical mechanism to control the hydraulic clamping pressure that is applied. The arrangement directly in the flow of force ensures a highly dynamic reaction to changes in torque and a high degree of reliability and robustness of the system.

The clamping characteristics are adjusted via the torque and transmission ratio being applied at that moment to suit the requirements of the tribological system of conical pulley and chain contacts. This variator technology is in series production with a 420 Nm variator torque.
