Fishing rods have a reel containing a drawn cup roller clutch so that the crank handle does not rotate when a fish is pulling line from the spool. The low frictional torque of INA drawn cup roller clutches allows uniform, smooth running of the reel.
To begin with, the drawn cup roller clutch is designed for a large number of indexing operations that far exceeds the functional rating life required for a fishing reel. Where necessary, such as in the case of fishing reels for saltwater, the drawn cup roller clutch can be specially protected against corrosion. In this case the outer ring of the drawn cup roller clutch is coated with Corrotect®. For the needle rollers, corrosion-resistant steel or Corrotect coating can be used.
Deep groove ball bearings provide rotary motion of the fishing rod. The FAG deep groove ball bearings are highly resistant and have a long rating life, so they are a match even for the high forces that may be caused by large fish.
