FAG axlebox and transmission bearings in Dresden streetcars
The first NGT6DD type streetcars were put into operation in Dresden in 1995.
The five-part low-level articulated railcars developed by Siemens Transportation Systems are equipped with two motorized and one non-motorized bogies. In 2001 the NGT8DD followed, a lengthened version of its predecessor. Two car sections were added and three motorized bogies were attached instead of two.
FAG supplies all rolling bearings for the Dresden streetcars, both for the wheelsets in the motorized/non-motorized cars and also for the wheelset transmission systems.
